Specialized Nursing Care and Services:(SVTH):

SVTH: Specialistische Verpleeg Technische Handelingen (Specialized Nursing Home Care)

SVTH is a complicated word but we make it easy to understand: these are procedures performed by certified nurses in the home setting. These procedures are necessary to maintain an individual’s health or to ensure that the patient can continue at home.

Without these actions, a patient is at high risk for complications, some of which can lead to life-threatening situations.

Through De Thuiszorg ZOW we offer the following specialized procedures at home:

  • Integral care of the diabetic patient

  • Integral care of the ostomy patient

  • Specialized care of simple and complex wounds

  • Compression therapy (compression stockings, ambulatory compression, etc.)

  • Catheterization (urinary catheterization, PEG, sampling, etc.)

  • Integral care of the enteral and parenteral feeding patient at home.

  • Different types of parenteral (infusion) therapy, for example: antibiotics, special

    medications, etc.

  • Special medical treatments at home

Some of the SVTH are part of the basic package of your health insurance. Our team is able to support you in resolving your doubts and to carry out the administrative processes to obtain the necessary financing from the insurer.

Palliative Care:

"The time that is enjoyed, is the true time lived". , Jorge Bucay

Palliative care is the care given to people when there is no cure for a disease and there is little life expectancy. We can think about patients with cancer, multiple sclerosis, POD, etc.

With these diseases you can live for weeks, months or even years, but you need more attention and supervision from your healthcare team to enjoy your last days and maintain the best possible quality of life.

De Thuiszorg ZOW has focused a team to guide patients and families during this difficult period, our main goal is to ensure that people have the best possible time and quality of life.

We offer multiple services in the field of palliative and hospice care for the individual and the family.

Representatives and Mentors

Our goal is to enable you to live your own life independently, for as long as possible and in the way you want.

There are 3 types of legal representatives in the Netherlands: mentor, administrator and legal representative or curator (Mentor, bewindvoerder en curator).

At De Thuiszorg ZOW we offer direct mentoring. A mentor or volunteer can make an important contribution and give good direction to your care needs, small financial decisions and help with small household problems.

If your needs in support and accompaniment require a designated administrator or legal representative, we at De Thuiszorg ZOW help you with our chain of partner companies and collaborators to find the most suitable one for your needs.

We are happy to offer help in 4 different languages (Dutch, Spanish, English and Papiamento).

Mentor or volunteer:
A mentor helps you make decisions about care, nursing and treatment. You can choose a mentor yourself and the mentor can be part of your family or circle of friends. The mentor makes decisions with you as much as possible. For example, a mentor may help you request a medical appointment or help you with personal administrative procedures. It should be clear that in the Netherlands a mentor does not manage your finances.

Administrator
An administrator takes care of financial matters and has limited access to your finances. An administrator helps you to manage your money or pension, make the necessary payments, file tax returns, etc. In the Netherlands an administrator can be a person, institution or company, either public or private.

Curator or legal representative:
A curator or legal representative takes care of all personal and financial matters if someone is unable to do so themselves. In the Netherlands, a curator is often chosen through court litigation and can be a person or a body. Only a person 18 years of age or older can be under guardianship, those under 18 years of age are subject to the responsibility of the parents or the law.

Tutorships:

De thuiszorg ZOW accompanies you in case of illness, disability or needing by social assistance.

Tutorship is the individual guidance and assistance of a counsellor or institution to a person, patient or family. Tutorship is intended to enable you to continue to live independently at home. The tutor does not take charge of anything, but teaches or guides you to do all kinds of practical things for yourself, such as:

  • Maintaining social contacts

  • Planning daily activities (shopping, scheduling appointments, etc.)

  • Assistance with moving and getting around in and out of your home

  • Observation, communication and support to other health professionals or official institutions.

  • Providing basic structure in the home to support you of your family with mental, behavioral, concentration or demential problems.

Tutorship is also a form of mentoring or volunteering; the difference is very clear: mentoring expenses (individual begeleiding) can be financed by health insurance or reimbursed from the state as long as the conditions set by the Dutch law on social support are met.

Domestic Services:

Home care ZOW accompanies you through an illness, handicap or social assistance

There are several situations in which you cannot perform household chores independently, temporarily or permanently. De Thuiszorg ZOW makes sure that household chores are taken care of through its network of partners and own staff.

An example of the domestic services provided:
• House cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, vacuuming, mopping, washing curtains, cleaning blinds, cleaning windows, etc.).
• Cooking.
• Shopping
• Cleaning bathrooms and yard
• Washing, hanging, drying, folding and ironing clothes.
• Making beds.

Domestic help in the Netherlands can be financed (if possible) through WMO or PGB. The municipality or the health insurer reimburses all or a large part of the payment.

In De Thuiszorg ZOW, domestic help can also be paid privately from 15 € per hour.

Medical Pedicure:

We recognize the great need for medical pedicure throughout the Zuid Holland region, so we offer a complete treatment of hands and feet at risk in your home. Our pedicure service is exclusively medical with certified and qualified staff for this purpose.

Our pedicurists use different medical and treatment techniques for at-risk feet, including nail regulation techniques, repair techniques and pressure release techniques.

De Thuiszorg ZOW assists you with the administrative processes necessary for reimbursement under the various supplementary insurance policies. By making an appointment with us, we clarify the financial possibilities for you in advance.

Feet at risk
A foot at risk is a foot that, due to one or several disorders or systemic diseases of our organism, presents a high risk of suffering injuries, wounds, deformities, among others.
